Privacy policy

This policy is for bohvetted.com (“we”, “us”). It covers the public website. It does not cover other sites we may link to.

This is a static website. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not take payment on the site.

The server that hosts the pages may keep ordinary access logs — date, URL, IP address, browser type — for security and to keep the site up. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not sell them.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are used and how people reach them. Google sets cookies on your device for that measurement and receives page URL, referrer, approximate location, and device and browser details. We do not use Analytics to serve ads, and we do not sell what it collects.

A small script on the homepage map only updates the caption when you point at a state. It does not store anything on your device.

Company pages publish business information we took from public sources: state licence registries, a company’s own website, and similar records. Names are stored as the registry published them. If you represent a listed company and a field is wrong, write to us and we will correct it.

We do not publish reviews, star ratings, or personal contact details of private individuals that are not already on a public business listing.

Pages load Google Analytics and typefaces from Google Fonts. Google receives the measurement data described above, and may see your IP address as part of serving the fonts. We do not send Google our listing data or search terms. Google’s own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. You can block Analytics with a browser add-on such as Google’s opt-out.

If you follow a link off this site — a citation on a .gov page, a company’s own website — that destination has its own policy.

If we hold personal information about you and you want to see it, correct it, or ask us to delete it, write to us. We will say what we have and what we can do. Some listing fields are copies of a public government record; we can correct our copy, but we cannot change the registry.

We do not sell personal information.
